  4.    This disk contains the WinBatch Interpreter version 5.0Q
  5.    This version is compiled for Windows 3.1 and Windows for
  6.    Workgroups running 16-bit versions of Windows.

  8.    32-bit versions of WinBatch for Intel, Dec Alpha, and MIPS
  9.    processors running advanced operating systems are also
  10.    available.

  12.    This version of WinBatch supports Ole 2.0 Automation, Floating
  13.    Point operations, Binary File Editing operations, and contains
  14.    many many new functions. The WIL help file has a section on the
  15.    new functions.

  17.    WinBatch is the Windows Batch Language that you can use to write
  18.    real honest-to-goodness Windows batch files to control every
  19.    aspect of your machine's operation.  There are more than 350 
  20.    different functions that allow you to do *anything* with WinBatch!

  23.    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  25.    WinBatch requires an IBM PC or compatible with a minimum of 4
  26.    megabytes of RAM (You really should have at least 8), running 
  27.    Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or higher.

  32.    WinBatch 5.0 is a major update from previous versions.  We are
  33.    sending all registered users update notification letters.  If you
  34.    are a registered user and did not receive an update letter by
  35.    Nov 1, 1994, then somehow we missed you. (Did you move?)  Call
  36.    (800)-762-8383 and get it straightened out.

  38.    It is true that the product was released before mailing out the
  39.    update letters.  The theory was to get some real-world testing
  40.    before updating thousands of users.  In addition, we have been
  41.    dribbling out the update letters at about a hundred a day so that
  42.    our 800 number does not get totally jammed.

  44.    *** Quick Fixes from previous 5.0 versions ***

  46.    1) Fixed the Novell3 n3Attach function.  
  47.    2) Fixed the Basic Network and the Multinet network drivers
  48.       so that they would accept lowercase disk drive names.
  49.    3) Fixed WinMacro so it could find its files.  Previous
  50.       versions shipped with a bad copy of wnmac16i.exe
  51.    4) Fixed the WIL.HLP file so that it could be read on >all<
  52.       monitors.  With some monitors some text was not visable.

  56.    Also available is our "WinBatch Compiler".  With the WinBatch
  57.    compiler, you can turn your WBT files into standalone EXE files
  58.    that you can distribute on a royalty-free basis.

  60.    Have a BIG network?  Want all your users to run your WBT files?
  61.    Compile the WBT files with the WinBatch Compiler and put the
  62.    EXE's up on the server.

  64.    Making specialized WinBatch files for clients?  Don't want them

  66.    EXE's to your client.

  79.                HOW TO INSTALL WINBATCH

  83.    Use our WSETUP.EXE program, which will copy the files for you
  84.    and install a WINBATCH group in the program manager with various
  85.    sample files. To use our WSETUP.EXE program...

  89.      1) Close down all extraneous Windows applications.

  91.      2) Double-Click on the WSETUP.EXE program
  92.  
  93.      3) When the setup program asks for a directory, specify initial
  94.         directory, or accept the given default (C:\WINBATCH).

  97.    NOTE:  If you are updating from a previous version, and made any of the
  98.           WinBatch files READ-ONLY, remove the read-only attribute from
  99.           the files before running setup.
  100.           (Or else the setup process will hang)

  104.     WinBatch can run in English, French, German, and "Val Speak".
  105.     The strings are controlled by the WWWDLANG.* files.  Run the
  106.     WILLANG.WBT file to change languages.
